Recce

As part of my research for my video, I went out to scout locations for which I could film some of my scenes. I already had ideas for where it was that I wanted to film, however by going to the locations and taking pictures I could get a feel for the typical condition I may come across, such as amount of people there may be, and begin to envision particular shots. 

1. This is the Nuffield Hospital which is situated in Bournemouth. It is a location I will use for some of my narrative/conceptual shots. It is the base of the story and allows the audience to understand the theme, structure and meaning behind the video. This is a key location and fits with my theme of my video. I will be using one of the rooms they have at the hospital along with the corridor. This will fit the story line.

RISK
- The main risk at the Nuffield is that we break some of the props used there E.g. Wheel Chair. To avoid this we will be extra careful and be considerate when using the prop.
- Another risk might be contamination - As we are using the bed sheets. However, I have made sure that the cleaners know we are there so they can clean up the bed sheets after we have left so that the risk of contamination onto a new patient doesn't happen.

2. This location is Linford Bottom. As it is a forest area with a stream and a road it is perfect for multiple of my shots. These include some of the 'couple' scenes and also all of the dance scenes within the video. It has many different looking areas and therefore can become very versatile in regards to my video. It is a peaceful and picturesque location making it ideal for my video purposes. 

RISK

- One of the key risks here is that due to it being winter the floor may be wet and boggy. This can be overcome by wearing correct and suitable footwear for this type of environment. Therefore we won't slip and our shoes wont be ruined.

- Another risk is the treat of slipping over, however with the correct footwear and careful walking this can be avoided.

3. This is Boston Tea Party in Ringwood. It is a small local cafe and has some sofa like arm chairs which I plan to use as a 'date' like shot. This will be used with props E.g. Coffee Cups. It is only two quick shots and won't take a long amount of time. The dull and dark lighting of the cafe make it's a perfect location to film and makes the atmosphere seem a bit more dull and dim. This is perfect for the shot I want to create. 

RISK

- There is no real risk at this location other than chipping a coffee cup and cutting ourselves, this can be avoided by being extra careful when using and placing the cup down onto the table at a gentle paste and not in an aggressive and dangerous manner.

 

5. This is the piano and the drum kit that we have at Ringwood school. This will be useful when I film my performance shots. They are easy to access as they are located within the school so therefore can easily be used for filming. They have good lighting within the room and can be edited to make it look more dull and atmospheric.

RISK

- The only risk associated with this location is that we may break the equipment if not used effectively and not used right. This can be avoided by using a person who knows how to use this equipment and being careful when doing so to ensure it doesn't get broken.

6. This is a location along Ringwood High Street. I will be using a the cream coloured wall in this photo. I will be using it for my 'couples' shot and therefore will only be used twice. It is a key wall because it is plain and you do have the option of the graffiti just further inside the wall to the left therefore making it versatile. As it is a small tunnel the lighting is dimmer which is ideal and adds affect. 


RISK
- The risk at this location is the car going through the tunnel. I will make sure we check at all times to make sure that there is no traffic and that we are not obstructing the road. I will also make sure it is filmed within the day time so that we are viable and drivers will be able to see us clearly.
